Collection & Delivery Manager
Job reference number 339073. £40,457 per annum, potential 15% bonus and 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays. Full time. Permanent. Location: Gloucester PFW Depot, Gloucester, GL2 2AD.
Whichever the challenge, Parcelforce delivers. This role is based at our Gloucester site and involves leading a team, being accountable for health and safety, operational quality, cost and people KPIs.
About the role
As a line manager to delivery and collection drivers including self‑employed owner/driver, you will achieve maximum efficiency through resource and contingency planning, drive quality of service and maximise productivity. You will use tight timescales to drive the depot to the highest customer service satisfaction levels whilst ensuring swift resolution to all customer enquiries and complaints.
You will be responsible for ensuring the performance of your unit, maintaining quality of service for customers and overall safety of the people you manage whilst working closely with the local sales team to increase revenue opportunities and highlight network conformance issues.
Attendance: Monday – Friday 06:00 – 14:15 (hours may vary due to role requirements).
About you
We need individuals with a passion for people and the following skills and experiences:
* Experience in an express parcels background with some experience of working in a unionised environment.
* Managing and supporting a large team to maximise performance, service and achieving KPI.
* Driving high customer satisfaction by ensuring service quality and managing swift resolutions.
* Ensuring health & safety compliance across all night operations, maintaining a safe working environment.
* Good communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate team members to work to high standards.
* Experience of introducing improvements and successfully guiding people through significant periods of change.
* Ability to build effective working relationships with your team, unions and key stakeholders.
* Experience of managing resources and budgets.
