Technical Production Manager
Introduction:
We are seeking a highly organised, detail-oriented Technical Production Manager to lead the technical planning and resourcing that underpin the delivery of world-class live events. You will be the technical lead on a portfolio of projects, owning technical planning, creating rig and de-rig schedules and keeping a focus on safety, while ensuring a seamless client experience from concept to on-site execution and close-out.

Role Overview:
As Technical Production Manager, you will plan and deliver the technical requirements of complex live events end-to-end. Your focus will be on building robust technical plans for events, visiting and assessing sites, creating operational schedules (e.g. rig and de-rig) developing people, vehicle and equipment requirements, translating creative and technical requirements into executable schedules, allocating resources, producing budgets and supporting quoting, and maintaining rigorous cost and risk control. You will coordinate suppliers and venues, provide clear internal communications and updates, and deliver a calm, solutions-focused presence on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
· Technical Design & Planning:
o Develop specifications of all technical requirements for events and clients of all sizes, either alone or as part of a team for larger events.
o Producing technical plans for event delivery including (but not limited to): power plans, lighting plans, data/networking plans, site layouts, load planning for structures, noise management plans, rig and de-rig schedules and related matters. Identifying and consulting with internal and external parties for the checking, revision and sign off of the above.
o Coordinate with Technical Production and other 21CC group companies where applicable.
o Oversee drawings, specs and method statements.
o Work closely with sales, event management and creative teams to build proposals for clients and potential clients, including budgeting and quoting input.
o Ensure Health & Safety, risk and compliance requirements are met across service delivery.
· Supplier Management:
o Procure, negotiate and Quality Assure third-party suppliers.
o Ensure service levels, deliverables and SLAs are met.
· Resourcing:
o Source and schedule internal crew and trusted freelancers.
o Confirm roles, timings and briefings.
o Manage supplier allocations for equipment and services.
o Maintain accurate resourcing in CRM/PM tools.
· Onsite Management
o Manage delivery on site, providing technical expertise to ensure a seamless event.
o Manage onsite technical team.
o Provide point of contact for client onsite.
· Logistics:
o Assist with booking vehicles, managing fleet and transport logistics and coordination of travel and accommodation.
o Ensure correct kit and people are in the right place at the right time.
· Client & Stakeholder Communication:
o Act as a confident point of contact for clients, venues and partners for end-to end production of events.
· Additional Tasks
o Assist the Production team with the delivery of events across the full range of company services.
o Prepare & maintain equipment.
o Develop technical solutions and methods of safe delivery.
o Compile risk assessments & method statements.
o Input into planning of company projects.
o Sourcing sub-hires.
o Support and input to quoting and budgeting
o Training and developing junior / less experienced members of staff/crew on technical equipment and delivery process.
o Support the work of the company across its range of services and responsibilities as required.
Your Expertise:
· Proven track record delivering live events with ownership of technical planning, logistics, and resourcing.
· Strong technical knowledge across lighting, sound, video, staging and power.
· Advanced scheduling, budgeting and cost-tracking skills; comfortable with POs, quotes, reconciliations and margin management.
· Good knowledge of health & safety, RAMS and compliance for live event settings.
· Experience with fleet/vehicle booking and movement planning is advantageous.
· High level of organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects under time pressure.
· Fluent with production and planning tools (e.g., Vectorworks/AutoCAD) and with CRM/PM systems for resourcing and job records.
· Excellent written and verbal communication with executive presence; confident leading meetings and issuing concise updates.
· Task-related qualifications (IPAF, NEBOSH, PASMA, Rigging, BS7909, First Aid, Telehandler/Forklifts, BPA, ASP etc)

About the Role:
· This is a permanent, full-time position working primarily in 21CC Group with support across our other associated companies, where required.
· You should be comfortable working across offices, venues and on-site environments.
· Weekend and evening work will be required during events.
· 31 days of holiday per year (including bank holidays) – 5 allocated by the company.
· Company pension scheme.
· A valid UK Driving license and car are required.

· Flexible working hours with core daily hours from 10 am – 4 pm each working day during office work days.
· Discretionary annual bonus, based on company performance.

Salary:
· £34,000 – £38,000 per year (depending on experience) for a 40 hour working week, however we're open to considering a higher salary for exceptional candidates with significant experience.
