JOB TITLE: Simulation Engineer

THE ROLE
The Simulation Engineer will be responsible for producing the simulation environment utilising Process Simulate, working closely and effectively with all divisions of the engineering and robotic departments. They will need to perform simulations of robotic cells, produce and test safety zones, carry out reach analysis, produce paths optimising speeds and zoning, carry out validation of cycle times and generate Robot Data Sheets.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The role involves but is not limited to:-
* Performing robotic simulations.
* Creation of OLP (Offline programs) and RDS (Robot Data Sheet).
* Creation of Simulation History.
* Creation and editing of AVI, MPEG videos.
* Software installation and utilisation (Process Simulate, RobotStudio, Kuka.Sim and RoboGuide).
* Cycle time validation and optimization.
* Understand and carry out all simulation deliverables.
* Upload onsite programs back into simulation software.
* Strong understanding of robotic applications, programming methodology and motion parameters.
* Liaise with customers to buy off simulations.
* Provide simulation support and training as required.
* Work closely with supervisor regarding projects, monitoring workload and deadlines.
* Document processes, procedures and changes for reference and training purposes.
* Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
* Comply with and enforce all operating system and quality guidelines and procedures to ensure expected results (QMS).

EXPERIENCE
Essential
* Qualified to a minimum HNC level or equivalent in Manufacturing /Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering
* Minimum 5 years' experience in simulation processes and automation environments
* Good working knowledge of Process Simulate
* Good understanding of robot program flow and basic programming theories
* Knowledge of ISO and ISO robotic safety standards and how they apply
* Experience in robotic spot welding, mig welding and material handling cells
* Experience liaising with customers on the entire simulation life cycle on both a technical and non-technical level
* Computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel and Autocad
* Proven ability and willingness to train and lead others
Desirable
* At least 3 years' experience in programming robots on the shop floor
* Previous Automotive T1 experience
* Experience using robotic manufacturers native software; RobotStudio, Kuka.Sim, RoboGuide
* Good understanding of robotic code; ABB, Kuka, Fanuc
* Industry 4.0 knowledge
* Mafact knowledge
