Job Details Company Job Details Specialist Teaching Assistant – (1 Year Fixed Term Contract) Primary Resource Provision For D/deaf Children Location: Ashwood Park Primary, Dudley Contract: 26 hours/week (0.70 FTE) Salary: Grade 5 SEN Allowance Are you ready to make a lasting impact in the lives of deaf children and young people? We’re offering an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated team as a Specialist Teaching Assistant within Dudley’s Local Authority Enhanced Provision for pupils with severe or profound hearing loss. Located at Ashwood Park Primary School, this 20-place provision supports pupils who are fully included in mainstream education while benefiting from tailored teaching sessions and enhanced classroom communication support. As part of our passionate team — which includes Qualified Teachers of the Deaf (QTODs) and Specialist Teaching Assistants — you'll deliver one-to-one and small-group support to nurture language development, listening skills, and access to the wider curriculum. Communication approaches, whether oral or SSE/BSL, are agreed in partnership with families to suit each child's unique needs. We work closely with NHS audiology, the Cochlear Implant Centre, and parents to ensure every child receives the best listening experience possible — backed by the latest hearing technology.
