As a Portfolio Manager, you will have a significant role to play in achieving our ambition, by supporting the underwriting and performance of our Digital SME portfolio. You will work as part of a highly successful team to deliver our underwriting strategy, ensuring adequate risk selection and pricing sophistication across a diverse portfolio. You will provide technical and business leadership across the SME Underwriting function and wider business areas, whilst being part of an award winning and growing UK Retail business. What will you be doing? The role of an E-Trade Portfolio Manager consists of these 4 main areas: Risk Selection: Support setting our risk appetite and ensure our digitally traded acceptance criteria are aligned to strategy such that we underwrite a diverse portfolio of risks. Deliver the underwriting strategy through continuous portfolio review, assessing referral criteria and supporting the communication of that strategy to the underwriting community. Pricing Adequacy: Own the price to market, ensuring the safe delivery of our financial targets through flawless execution whilst supporting our broker partners with competitive pricing and providing customers with access to products at a premium that accurately reflects the underlying risk. Proposition: Maintain best of breed propositions with a customer focus, such that customers within our target market have access to products that go above and beyond to meet their needs whilst demonstrating proactive adherence to consumer duty. Be A Game Changer: Continuously seek new opportunities to improve our offering to market, be it through improved pricing sophistication, an innovative approach to underwriting, evolving our products or improving operationally efficiency for our partners. What are we looking for? Strong portfolio management experience and skills. Experience and skills in the underwriting and pricing in digital environments and via software houses. Relevant market, customer, financial risk, regulatory and business awareness. Effective leadership and influencing skills. Highly articulate with an ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals both internally and externally. Experience collaborating with a wide array of stakeholders and delivering through others. Advanced and in-depth knowledge of digital products, line/s of business and distribution models. Excellent analytical skills with an ability to turn analysis into insight and business decisions. Awareness of the financial dynamics of a portfolio (i.e. expense allocation, return on capital requirements and the like).
