Job Overview
Safeguarding Officer – York High School is seeking to appoint a professional to have day‑to‑day responsibility for safeguarding and child protection across the school. The role includes providing advice and support to staff on child welfare, safeguarding and child protection matters, and liaising with relevant agencies.
Responsibilities
* Manage safeguarding policies and procedures within the school.
* Advise and support teachers, pupils, and parents on safeguarding and child protection.
* Coordinate with external agencies and maintain up‑to‑date records of all safeguarding concerns.
* Implement and encourage good safeguarding practice and promote a culture of safety.
Qualifications & Experience
* Proof of experience managing safeguarding in a school environment.
* Excellent communication skills and effective record keeping.
* Strong knowledge of legislation and guidance on safeguarding and child protection.
* Level 3 designated safeguarding lead qualification/training.
