A busy engineering site in Burnley is seeking an experienced Storeperson to support day-to-day operations. The role involves managing materials, assisting with deliveries, and ensuring the smooth running of the site stores. Your new role
Materials Handling & Equipment Operation
Operate a Telehandler safely to move materials around site
Load and unload deliveries using the Telehandler (and forklift if licensed)
Transport materials to required work areas ensuring safe handling
Stock & Inventory Management
Receive, check, and record incoming goods and deliveries
Maintain accurate stock levels and update inventory systems
Store materials in designated areas and ensure stock is organised
Prepare and issue materials to site teams when required
Site Logistics & Organisation
Maintain the cleanliness, tidiness, and safety of the stores area
Ensure walkways and storage bays are kept clear and compliant
Assist with general site logistics, including coordinating deliveries
Conduct routine inspections of tools, plant, and equipment in stores
Health, Safety & Compliance
Follow all site health and safety protocols and reporting procedures
Complete safety checks on the Telehandler before each use
Report damaged materials or unsafe conditions immediately
Use correct PPE at all times
General Support
Assist site teams with manual handling tasks when required
Support supervisors and site management with ad-hoc duties
Communicate effectively with delivery drivers and contractors
Provide regular updates on stock levels and upcoming requirements
What you'll need to succeed
Essential Requirements
Valid Telehandler licence
Experience working in a stores, warehouse, or construction environment
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable Skills
Forklift licence (advantageous but not essential)
Previous experience on MEICA or construction-related projects
Experience managing stock, deliveries, and site logistics
What you'll get in return
Standard Week: 42.5 hours
(07:30-16:30, Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break)
Overtime: Paid at time-and-a-half
