Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a caring and enthusiastic Band 3 Health Care Support Worker to join the Hospice at Home Team Evening Service. The role is supervised by the Hospice at Home Team Leader and offers a 16‑hour, part‑time, permanent contract primarily covering 6 pm–10 pm. Staff may be asked to cover other shifts on occasion to meet the needs of the service.
Responsibilities
* Provide high standards of care to patients at the end of life, ensuring privacy, respect, dignity and confidentiality.
* Offer emotional support to patients’ families and carers.
* Deliver basic nursing care and holistic support under the guidance of the Team Leader.
* Work the 16‑hour evening shift and be available for rota‑d weekends and bank holidays.
* Travel between patients’ homes using a personal vehicle; covering Wrexham, Flintshire and Denbighshire counties.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
* QCF/NVQ in Health Care Level 3 qualification, or equivalent experience.
Desirable Qualifications
* Evidence of palliative care training and/or education.
Essential Experience
* Two or more years’ experience working in a care setting.
Desirable Experience
* Experience working with palliative care patients.
Language
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable. Welsh and English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
