Medacs Healthcare is working in partnership with Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) to recruit a Consultant Histopathologist to join one of the largest, most diverse, and forward‑thinking pathology departments in the East of England.

About the Role
As a Consultant Histopathologist, you will join a highly experienced team of consultants working within an oligo‑specialist model, with opportunities to develop expertise in 2-3 subspecialties.
You will work in a modern, purpose‑built Cellular Pathology building equipped with digital pathology, voice recognition, advanced laboratory systems, and strong academic links with the University of East Anglia (UEA) and the Norwich Research Park.
Responsibilities
1. Provide consultant‑level reporting across agreed subspecialty areas
2. Participate in MDTs
3. Contribute to the department's digital pathology and innovation programmes
4. Support the delivery of high‑quality diagnostic services across NNUH, JPUH, QEH, and regional GP practices
5. Participate in clinical governance, audit, quality improvement, and risk management
What We're Looking For
Essential:
6. MBBS or equivalent medical degree
7. Full GMC registration with licence to practise
8. FRCPath in Histopathology (or within 6 months of CCT/CESR)
9. Broad training and experience in diagnostic histopathology
10. Ability to develop subspecialty interests aligned to departmental needs
11. Strong communication and teamworking skills
12. Right to work in the UK
13. DBS/PVG check (or willingness to complete)
Desirable:
14. Experience in paediatric/perinatal pathology, dermatopathology, GI, or cytology
15. Experience in research, teaching, or digital pathology
16. Interest in service development or leadership roles
