The postholder will provide "front-line" intervention support during the school day to respond to and minimise incidents arising from pupil behaviour, provide initial counselling and guidance, and support to enable pupils to return to lessons. They will assist the Pastoral Manager in planning and implementing supervision rotas and activities during lesson breaks, working informally with pupils to maintain good behavioural standards.
Ensure the consistent application of the school behaviour policy by working with staff and pupils to develop awareness and understanding of acceptable standards, and to implement and review strategies for behaviour improvement and coping skills.
Coordinate with relevant professionals within the school to provide integrated support for identified pupils, and liaise with families, carers, and other agencies to enhance in-school support services.
Maintain appropriate records of physical interventions, incident reports, communication with parents, class attendance, and behavioural support activities.
You will be required to work 1:1 with assigned young people.
