An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Adult Speech and Language Therapy Community Team in Betsi Cadwaladr Central as a Band 6 Therapist. This full-time, permanent position offers a chance to work with a varied caseload, including Parkinson's Disease, dementia, stroke, and MND, supported by highly trained clinical specialists.
The role involves:
1. Input into various MDT clinics and Community Resource Teams.
2. Providing 1:1 regular management supervision and access to clinical supervision in peer groups.
3. Collaborating with clinical specialists through joint working and second opinions.
4. Working within an innovative, supportive, and collaborative environment.
The adult community service covers assessment and treatment of patients with neurological conditions across domiciliary, outpatient, and community hospital settings in Conwy and Denbighshire. The team also provides training to registered nurses and carers and contributes to MDT clinics such as MS and Movement Disorders.
The successful candidate will have specialist skills to work independently with adults with communication and swallowing disorders, including post-graduate dysphagia training. Experience working with adults with neurological disorders is essential; community experience is preferred but training will be provided.
Applicants must be able to travel between sites. Proficiency in Welsh is desirable; applications in Welsh are welcomed and will be treated equally.
