Role Overview:
The Retail Projects Team is responsible for designing and influencing all aspects of new store openings. From conception through to completion, we are an integral part in the growth of store expansion within JD
Each day is different in this role and will provide the opportunity to travel and experience being in an important team within a global business.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* To be a key member in a fast-paced team who are an essential part of delivering all new JD stores globally.
* To collectively influence the layout of a store from the sales floor area and placement of furniture to planning an operationally efficient off sales space.
* Work cross functionally with Retail Designers, Space Planning and Property Projects teams to develop all aspects of store layouts,
* Communicating closely with the Central VM Team to meet all visual aspects within a new store.
* Frequent travel to UK and European stores to attend site meetings and New Store Retail hand overs.
* Post hand over to co-ordinate snagging lists and outstanding works with Property PM to ensure all uncomplete tasks are finished in time for Store Opening.
* Involvement in the design processes for new concepts and equipment to help improve the existing JD image and communicate this vision while aligning this to the current business model.
* Creating Store fixture documents and working closely with suppliers and the JD Procurement Team to co-ordinate furniture and equipment orders.
Skills/Experience/Knowledge needed:
* Strong knowledge of the JD brands is advantageous.
* JD Visual Merchandising experience is preferable for this role.
* Creative and Innovative.
* Ability to undertake multiple tasks at any one time.
* Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
* Strong organisational skills and self-discipline.
* Ability to work on own initiative.
* Team player.
* Geographically mobile through the UK and Europe.
* Full driving licence essential.
* Knowledge & understanding of Microsoft Word & Excel.
