We are seeking an experienced Technical Architect with a strong background working within a UK police force or policing environment to support a major records management system (RMS) migration programme. The role will focus on migrating legacy policing systems into NicheRMS (or a comparable police RMS platform).
Role Overview
You will play a key role in defining and delivering the technical architecture for a complex migration programme, ensuring data integrity, system interoperability, and compliance with policing standards and information governance requirements. Working closely with business, technical, and supplier teams, you will help enable a smooth transition from legacy systems to NicheRMS.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and ownership of the end-to-end technical architecture for the RMS migration programme.
Define target-state architecture for NicheRMS, including integrations with surrounding policing systems.
Oversee migration of data from multiple legacy systems, ensuring data quality, mapping, and reconciliation.
Provide architectural assurance across system integration, configuration, and deployment activities.
Work closely with DBAs, integration specialists, suppliers, and police stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
Ensure solutions align with policing standards, security policies, and information management requirements.
Support technical governance, documentation, and design reviews throughout the programme lifecycle.
Essential Experience
Proven experience as a Technical Architect on complex transformation or migration programmes.
Direct experience working within a UK police force or policing environment .
Hands-on experience with NicheRMS or a similar police Records Management System (RMS) .
Strong background in legacy system migration, particularly data-heavy platforms.
Experience designing and delivering system integrations and target-state architectures.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills across technical and non-technical teams.
Desirable Experience
Experience migrating to NicheRMS or similar RMS system.
Knowledge of police data standards, information management, and governance frameworks.
Background working on large public-sector or criminal justice transformation programmes.
SC security clearance or eligibility to obtain clearance.
