Domiciliary Carer (Home Care Worker)
Community-based (service users’ homes)
To provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to individuals in their own homes, promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing while ensuring all care is delivered in line with agreed care plans and regulatory standards.
* Deliver personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting, and grooming
* Support with medication administration (where trained)
* Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and hydration
* Provide companionship and emotional support
* Support with mobility, including use of hoists and equipment (where trained)
* Carry out light household duties (cleaning, laundry, shopping)
* Maintain accurate care records and report any changes in service users’ conditions
* Follow care plans and risk assessments at all times
* Promote independence and encourage service users to make their own choices
* Safeguard service users and report any concerns in line with policies
* Previous experience in care is essential
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Good organisational xehkeey and time management skills
* Understanding of safeguarding and person-centred care
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (desirable)
* Willingness to complete training and ongoing professional development
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (often essential)
* Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends
* Enhanced DBS check required
