We are looking for Band 5 nurses to work on Surgical Assessment Unit and across the surgical floor.
Come and join our enthusiastic and dynamic nursing team on the Surgical Assessment Unit at Stoke Mandeville Hospital striving to provide high quality specialist surgical care to our patients.
SAU is a team of registered and unregistered nurses working closely with several Specialist surgical teams to provide acute care to a wide demographic of patients within Buckinghamshire.
As a senior team, we strive to develop and 'grow' our staff. We actively promote professional development and strive to offer a learning environment where staff feel empowered to enhance their knowledge.
Main duties of the job
1. Acts at all times in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct.
2. Supervises the work of the nursing team, ensuring individual programmes of care are formulated accordingly to patient needs and current research/guidelines.
3. Undertakes the assessment of patients including risk assessments e.g Waterlow and falls assessments
4. Ensures planned nursing care is delivered safely and effectively taking into account the views of the patient and their relatives.
5. Ensures plans of care are implemented and updated as appropriate.
6. Advises on the promotion of health and prevention of illness.
