We are seeking a highly motivated individual to work as a ward clerk supporting the Child and Adolescent Unit. The successful candidate will need to be forward thinking and be able to provide a full range of clerical duties to support the smooth running of the unit, they will be working in a team with our other Ward Clerks to ensure support to both the Assessment and Elective Surgery areas and the inpatient area. Good organisational and communication skills are essential as well as a flexible approach to work. Knowledge of health IT systems to include DCS would be desirable although full training will be given. The position will cover Monday - Saturday 7.30-20.00 You will be responsible for the ordering, filing and maintenance of patient records and the Digital Clinical System for Paediatrics. This may involve registering patients, discharging, planning appointments and keeping an up to date bed statement. You will be expected to be able to communicate with a wide range of professionals, Consultants, doctors, nursing staff, and patients/relatives as well as the Ward Clerk team.
