Job description
Our client, a leading specialist in the nuclear industry, is currently seeking a Principal Safety Engineer for a contract position. This role requires SC Clearance and a deep understanding of safety protocols within the nuclear sector.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Coordinating the 10 Dock nuclear safety team in the production of deliverables and service delivery
2. Ensuring HAZOPs are completed to meet time and quality requirements
3. Contributing to safety case planning as required
4. Reviewing documentation for correctness and completeness
Job Requirements:
5. SC Clearance
6. Considerable experience in the management and preparation of safety documentation for nuclear installations
7. Experience in most aspects of Engineering design and safety practice
8. Proficiency in conducting and running formal safety analyses such as HAZOPs, HAZID, FMECA, and FTA
9. Experience in supporting construction, operation, refit/repair of nuclear facilities or similar
10. Relevant Engineering/Science degree (minimum BEng., BSc.) or equivalent qualification/experience
11. Preferred: Chartered Member of a recognised and relevant professional institute
12. Ability to manage and collaborate with others, applying own initiative and judgement within defined limits
13. Capability to follow direction and work to agreed plans and schedules
