Job Overview
The Energy Transition team within our Energy unit is looking for a Project Manager to lead our technical advisory projects in a growing portfolio, supporting our clients in the UK and across Europe as part of the energy transition. The role will focus on improving our project management processes and approach, driving delivery excellence and efficiency.
Responsibilities
* Deliver project scope to time, quality and cost targets.
* Build and manage strong relationships with senior client representatives and internal stakeholders.
* Establish effective communication across the project delivery team.
* Lead problem solving and decision making.
* Control internal and external commercial aspects under contract arrangements.
* Manage risk to the business and to the client.
* Work effectively on several projects concurrently to meet tight deadlines.
* Oversee thermal energy advisory assignments, including due diligence for lenders, acquisitions, and vendors.
* Conduct technical reviews of engineering design documentation, prepare reports and specifications to high quality standards.
* Lead and manage tender preparation and negotiation for Owner’s Engineer projects.
* Manage interfaces between main contractors, monitor progress against programme and milestones, and support resolution of contractor claims.
* Identify critical risks, issues and impacts, ensuring adherence to statutory and corporate HSE requirements.
* Administer contracts and apply change, risk, schedule and cost management principles.
* Make complex decisions while ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to.
* Create a work environment that promotes health, safety and wellbeing.
Qualifications
* Relevant engineering or management degree, or equivalent successful experience in energy sector project management.
* Proven delivery of thermal energy projects (e.g., OCGT, CCGT) for consultancy, designer, contractor or major industry client.
* Experience in electrical infrastructure projects (Owner’s Engineer, Lender’s Engineer or similar).
* Contract administration experience.
* Strong communication skills, able to work across cross‑functional teams and countries.
* Commercial awareness of contract terms and ability to adapt to multiple concurrent projects.
* Collaborative skills and ability to work in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
* Relevant project management qualifications (e.g., PMQ, PMP, Prince2) are desirable.
