This pivotal role supports the delivery of a new nuclear power station—one of the most complex projects in the UK—directly contributing to the nation’s Net Zero ambitions.Position OverviewAs Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in both people leadership and operational delivery. You will lead and develop a growing team, ensuring wellbeing, capability development, and career progression are aligned with Amentum’s values and standards.You will act as the key interface between the SZC portfolio and central operational and corporate teams, ensuring consistent application of processes, procedures, and governance across the programme.Hybrid working is available; however, weekly attendance at the London office is essential.Key ResponsibilitiesDrive recruitment and resourcing, including interviews and candidate selectionOversee mobilisation, onboarding, vetting, and offboarding activitiesLead team capability development, training coordination, and career progression planningSupport promotions and enable effective line management of seconded team membersCoordinate team briefs, engagement initiatives, and social activitiesEnsure compliance with Amentum processes and operational proceduresAct as the primary liaison with the central operational team and corporate functionsEnsure all activities comply with health, safety, quality, and governance requirementsSkills & ExperienceStrong background in team leadership, recruitment, and people development, ideally within technical or engineering environmentsProven ability to collaborate and engage effectively with stakeholders at all levelsExcellent problem-solving and decision-making skillsStrategic thinker with the ability to deliver operational and business objectivesSound understanding of financial and commercial aspects of operations managementExceptional communication skills, with the confidence to operate in a complex programme environmentIf you are passionate about people, operational excellence, and making a tangible contribution to the UK’s energy future, we’d love to hear from you.
