Are you a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis?
Teaching Personnel is seeking a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work in a welcoming primary school in Abergavenny. This full-time position is to begin in September 2025 and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a child’s learning journey.
The Role:
Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with additional learning needs (ALN), such as ASD, ADHD or speech and language delay.
Assist with classroom tasks, ensuring the child remains focused and engaged.
Implement differentiated learning strategies tailored to the pupil’s needs.
Encourage positive behaviour and promote emotional regulation techniques.
Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience working with children in an educational or care setting.
Be calm, patient, and confident in supporting children with special educational needs (SEN).
Hold a relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, TA certification) or equivalent experience.
Be available to work Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm.
Be able to provide a child-only DBS check on the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
