Overview Of The Role
After recent framework successes, we have a range of roles available for experienced electrical, instrumentation, control and automation (EICA) engineers for our multidisciplinary Water Division. We work on a vast range of design projects covering:
* Water treatment
* Water distribution
* Wastewater recycling
* Industrial process water
* Desalination
* Irrigation
* Hydropower
* Flood defence
Our scope covers all phases of the project lifecycle from feasibility studies through detailed design, construction support, and commissioning to handover. You will provide specialist technical support, lead the integration of electrical & ICA design with other disciplines, and build strong relationships with clients and contractors.
Candidate Specification
You will be knowledgeable about a wide range of EICA tasks, typically including:
* Electrical power distribution design
* Control system design
* Specifying local renewable and back‑up generation systems
* Developing plant layouts
* Cabling and installation design
* Instrumentation selection
* Lightning protection assessment
* Writing system control strategies
* Factory and site acceptance tests of equipment
Essential
* Qualified to HND level or higher in electrical, electronic or control engineering or a related discipline
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
* Understanding of the importance of prioritising health, safety, and environmental issues
* Experience of successfully delivering high quality outputs in accordance with design, quality and safety standards
Desirable
* Master’s degree in electrical, electronic or control engineering or a related discipline
* Chartered status with the Institution of Engineering and Technology or an equivalent body
* Experience of working in the water and/or wastewater industry
* Good understanding of pipeline hydraulics
* Good understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes
