To oversee the day-to-day operations of the residential home, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centered care and support in line with regulatory requirements, company policies, and best practice. Responsible for staff management, compliance, safeguarding, budgeting, and promoting a safe, nurturing environment for residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
* Ensure the home operates in line with CQC (or local authority/regulator) standards.
* Manage day-to-day service delivery, ensuring residents’ needs are met with dignity and respect.
* Maintain health and safety standards throughout the home.
Team Leadership & HR:
* Recruit, lead, supervise, and develop a team of support staff.
* Conduct staff appraisals, supervisions, and performance management.
* Deliver or coordinate mandatory and developmental staff training.
Resident Wellbeing:
* Promote independence, choice, and inclusion for all residents.
* Ensure residents' care/support plans are person-centered, up-to-date, and regularly reviewed.
* Respond to safeguarding concerns and implement appropriate procedures.
Compliance & Quality Assurance:
* Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
* Lead inspections and audits (e.g., CQC inspections).
* Implement action plans to address areas for improvement.
Financial & Administrative Duties:
* Manage service budgets effectively, including petty cash and staffing costs.
* Oversee occupancy levels and referrals in collaboration with commissioning bodies.
* Maintain confidentiality and data protection compliance.
