There is an exciting opportunity to join Bellway, one of the UK’s largest house builders. Our East Midlands Division is looking to recruit a Project Manager to join the Division’s Technical team.
The Role
The Project Manager reports to the Technical Director and is responsible for the delivery and management of key infrastructure projects, overseeing consultants and the site technical team. The role involves working closely with the site construction team to deliver key stages of build and infrastructure.
Principal Responsibilities
1. Arrange and chair project and key stakeholder meetings.
2. Maintain infrastructure and off-site programmes.
3. Appoint and manage key consultants, ensuring effective communication.
4. Produce and update project programmes, keeping stakeholders informed.
5. Scrutinize designs and facilitate design team and consortium meetings, including distribution of minutes and QA procedures.
6. Review agreements, specifications, and manage changes during project delivery.
7. Ensure delivery aligns with project objectives and milestones.
8. Oversee infrastructure delivery, including roads, sewers, utilities, and earthworks.
9. Monitor planning conditions.
10. Interface with local authority representatives, councillors, and key stakeholders.
11. Coordinate infrastructure delivery, including highways, utilities, Part L compliance, foundations, and roads.
Experience, Qualifications, and Skills
* Experience managing teams effectively.
* Up-to-date knowledge of health and safety and building legislation.
* Housebuilding experience is essential.
* GCSE Maths and English – Grade C or above (or equivalent).
* Valid CSCS card.
* Construction Management qualifications such as HNC Level 4, HND Level 5, or NVQ Level 6 are desirable.
* Effective communication and listening skills.
* Good administrative skills.
* Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
* Commitment to diversity and inclusion.
* Proactive management and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions
Ability to travel to development sites and divisional office. The role is both site and office-based.
