Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activity Coordinator to join our team in providing enriching experiences for residents in our assisted living and memory care facilities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with our residents, ensuring that all activities promote engagement, socialization, and overall well-being. This role requires strong organizational skills, creativity in event planning, and the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
Duties
* Plan, organize, and implement a variety of recreational and therapeutic activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
* Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure that activities align with individual care plans and support residents' physical and emotional needs.
* Facilitate group activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and physical engagement.
* Maintain a schedule of events and ensure all necessary materials are prepared in advance.
* Engage residents in meaningful conversations to assess their interests and adapt activities accordingly.
* Provide support and assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as needed.
* Document participation levels and gather feedback from residents to continually improve programming.
* Work closely with families to encourage involvement in community events and foster relationships between residents.
Experience
* Previous experience in event planning or recreational therapy is preferred.
* Background in assisted living, nursing home settings, or long-term care environments is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, or care-giving is essential.
* Experience working with residents who have dementia or providing home & community care is beneficial.
* Strong communication skills are required to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff members.
* ability and knowledge to complete daily records and evidence on PCS software.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: Up to £12.41 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
