RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE WORKPLACE DESIGN STANDARDS MANAGER Provide design assurance across up to 300 concurrent projects Ensure compliance with internal standards (e.g., BS8300) Contribute to and evolve design standards and guidance Conduct post-occupancy evaluations Support programme lifecycle activities and governance Evaluate costs, logistics, and practicalities of office design Lead/support process reviews and continuous improvement Develop and implement workplace design and technical property standards Promote sustainable, inclusive, and efficient workspaces Provide strategic advice across all RIBA stages Collaborate with stakeholders and guide external contractors SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE WORKPLACE DESIGN STANDARDS MANAGER Essential Experience Background in architecture or interior design (commercial/retail preferred) Experience with large-scale workplace or job centre projects Strong understanding of inclusive design and accessibility Skilled in stakeholder management and presenting to large groups Experience in writing and evolving design standards Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and RIBA processes Desirable Experience & Qualifications Degree or Master’s in Architecture RIBA membership (or working towards) Project management qualifications (e.g., PRINCE2, APM) Experience in complex estates (e.g., healthcare, education) Familiarity with UK regulations and standards If you are a workplace design standards manager, apply now or send your CV to Spinwell!
