2. Your New RoleAs an Assistant Accountant, you will support the Finance team with a broad range of accounting and reporting activities, gaining hands-on exposure to core financial processes. This is a developmental role, designed to build the technical andmercial capability required to progress into a full Accountant position.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Supporting thepilation, consolidation, and analysis of financial data under the guidance of senior finance colleagues
2. Monitoring performance against budgets and reporting variances in line with internal controls and regulatory requirements
3. Assisting with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
4. Supporting statutory accounting andpliance activities, including tax and regulatory requirements
5. Participating in the month-end close process, including coordination of reporting deadlines and preparation of board-level information
6. Producing financial analysis and ad-hoc reports to support improvement initiatives and business projects
7. Responding to finance-related queries from internal and external stakeholders
8. Supporting the effective use of finance systems and data management tools
9. Contributing to a strong control environment and identifying areas of nonpliance or process improvement
You will also play an active role in promoting a safety-first, inclusive, and values-driven culture across the finance function.3. What You’ll Need to SucceedTo be considered for this role, you will ideally have:
10. A university degree or vocational qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline
11. 6–12 months of relevant work experience (including undergraduate placements where applicable)
12. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and key performance indicators
13. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
14. Strongmunication skills, with confidence engaging a range of stakeholders
15. A proactive mindset, with an interest in continuous improvement and learning
No formal management experience is required, as this role is focused on professional development.
