Job Title: Highway Technician | 8259 | Permanent Contract | 37 hours per week | £30,559 to £32,654 per annum (Scale G) | Aylsham Depot
We are seeking an organized and self-motivated individual to join our highways maintenance team based in Norwich. Candidates should have experience in highway inspection duties, maintenance, construction, or other engineering environments.
The highway area teams are responsible for client highway maintenance and street works functions for the County Council as the highway authority. Responsibilities include:
1. Highway inspection and scheme identification
2. Member and public interface
3. Supervision of works, including utilities
4. Traffic management inspection and monitoring
5. Winter and emergency planning
Excellent communication skills are essential for delivering high-quality customer service and effectively liaising with contractors and utility companies on site.
Duties may involve responding to emergencies such as flooding or winter conditions, which could require work outside normal hours. The role requires travel to locations not always accessible by public transport.
