Overview

Join us as at Barclays as a Network Security Governance Analyst. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that products are managed in alignment with defined controls and performance measures. This includes assessing the effectiveness of current controls, identifying and remediating thematic issues, and maintaining security configurations in accordance with secure design principles. This role is critical in partnering with the Group Technology Networks function to ensure that security is effectively embedded and operationalized across all network security products and controls.

To be successful as a Network Security Governance Analyst, you should have experience with:


Qualifications

* Knowledge of working within the information & cyber security field, including systems audit or internal controls, that are relevant to our business & financial services.
* Working knowledge of network security and network services, including the tooling used to achieve security of networks.
* Extensive analytical, decision making and investigatory skills; and problem solving and high level of attention to detail.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

* Experience building and maintaining effective relationships at all levels.
* Working knowledge of operational risk & control processes and practices, including experience in their application across functions.
* Experience producing reports and management information.

You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.

This role is based in Knutsford.


Purpose of the role

To provide a primary liaison service between the business, technology, and security functions. In order to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information, and support the mitigation of security risk.


Accountabilities

* Collaboration with stakeholders to understand their security requirements in business processes and IT projects, to enhance overall risk management.
* Execution of risk assessments to identify and prioritise potential cybersecurity threats that could impact the banks operations and data and guide the implementation of mitigation strategies and communicate findings to relevant findings to relevant senior stakeholders.
* Collaboration with business units to develop and implement security policies and procedures for the banks operations aligned to the risk management framework.
* Management of the implementation, testing and monitoring of security controls across the banks IT systems to ensure the effectiveness of controls and mitigation of risk.
* Execution of training content and sessions to educate employees, enhance cybersecurity awareness and provide guidance on safe online practices.
* Management of complex cybersecurity incidents by collaborating with IT teams and response experts to effectively resolve cases through analysis, expertise support and project supervision.
* Identification of emerging cybersecurity trends, threats, and new technologies to address potential risks by advocating the adoption of new security solutions.

They will identify new directions for assignments and/ or projects, identifying a combination of cross functional methodologies or practices to meet required outcomes.
* Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
* Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
* Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
* Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
* Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
* Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively.
* Communicate complex information. \"Complex\" information could include sensitive information or information that is difficult to communicate because of its content or its audience.
* Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
