RWE Renewables UK Management Ltd. is recruiting a Vessel Manager to work full time, permanent and start as soon as possible.
About the role:
* Contribute to the operational, health and safety, financial, and strategic performance of RWE’s offshore wind fleet
* Actively manage marine contracts through regular meetings and KPI reviews. Maintain vessel history records and report on vessel performance, supplier quality and HSE performance
* Manage the technical aspects of the procurement process acting as project manager and driving the tender processes and negotiations
* Coordinate CTV mobilisation, inspection and delivery at operational sites as required and ensure standards are maintained through ongoing inspections
* Support operational sites as a centre of competence regarding CTVs and marine operations, assisting sites with Marine Assurance topics as required
* Establish and maintain good working relationships with all operational sites, vessel suppliers and industry bodies
* Promote continuous improvement by identifying and implementing industry best practices, incorporating changes to working methods, and adopting technical developments to enhance the safety and performance of the vessels
* Contribute to the identification and appropriate management of Marine and Logistical risks
* Carry out supplier audits in line with internal and recognised standards and continual improvement ethos
Job requirements and experience:
* At least a number of years' relevant experience as a shipping company Vessel Manager/DPA/Superintendent or a Senior seagoing background in either Deck or Engineering along with significant experience in offshore renewables
* Extensive knowledge of CTVs – Designs, Propulsion, Capabilities, and Performance
* Experience of vessel inspections and inspection documentation such as IMCA, CMID and MISW
* Experience with safety management systems, auditing practices and compliance activities
* Knowledge and experience relating to Statutory Rules and regulations as applicable to marine activities
* Experience of vessel contracts and BIMCO formats
* Knowledge of classification rules, recognised standards, BIMCO, offshore wind best practice
* Well‑developed communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi‑disciplined team
* Willingness to travel (UK/CE) and willingness to work offshore for short periods
Advantageous but not essential:
* A recognised and applicable engineering degree (e.g. Naval Architecture)
