Health & Safety Advisor – COOK
Location: Based in Sittingbourne with some travel to other sites.
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000
Hours: Mon–Fri 8:30am–5pm (flexibility required)
Purpose:

We seek a proactive HSE Advisor to support our safety initiatives, embed our ‘culture of care,’ and enhance HSE delivery across the business. A passion for behavioural safety and strong communication skills are essential.
Reporting to the Head of Health, Safety and Environment, you will support operational teams across kitchens and logistics, and contribute to HSE policy and management systems at a central level.
Main responsibilities:
* Develop and promote the COOK ‘Culture of care’ in collaboration with the Head of HSE.
* Support operational teams in implementing safety processes and developing safety champions.
* Provide expert HSE advice, assistance, and assurance to teams.
* Analyze HSE data and statistics for ongoing improvement.
* Assist in HSE meetings, reporting, and communication of safety strategies.
* Ensure compliance with statutory HSE requirements and support continual improvement.
* Participate in incident investigations, risk assessments, and safety audits.
* Deliver safety briefings and toolbox talks as needed.
* Support HSE aspects of capital projects and new equipment integration.
* Advise on HSE training and regulatory relationships.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:
* Minimum NEBOSH General Certificate; working towards or willing to pursue Level 6 HSE qualification.
* Experience in HSE roles within manufacturing, preferably food industry.
* Interest in environmental management.
* Strong knowledge of industry regulations and commitment to professional growth.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Full UK driving license.
