Our client is a well-established plant hire and machinery specialist in Northern Ireland, supporting customers across construction, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.
They operate a modern fleet of heavy plant, powered access, and general hire equipment, with a strong reputation for reliability and quality service.
The Role
As a Workshop Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the service, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of plant equipment from the depot.
This role suits someone who prefers a structured environment, working on a variety of kit while supporting the wider engineering team.
Key Responsibilities:
Service, maintenance, and repair of heavy plant and powered access equipment
Carry out pre-delivery inspections (PDI) and routine servicing
Diagnose faults across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
Prepare equipment for hire and ensure it meets company standards
Work closely with the parts and service team to ensure efficient turnaround
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop
The Candidate
Experience working on heavy plant, powered access, or similar machinery
Strong mechanical and hydraulic fault-finding skills (electrical knowledge beneficial)
Workshop or depot-based experience preferred
NVQ Level 2/3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent (desirable)
Team player with a proactive attitude
Good attention to detail and pride in work
