Equine Activities & Events Co-ordinator

Full Time, Permanent Contract.

30 hours per week, including weekends

Horses and Ponies Protection Association, Burnley, Lancashire, is looking for an outgoing individual to assist with the co-ordination and delivery of onsite and offsite fundraising and equine educational events in order to raise funds for the equines in HAPPA's care through education.

This is an exciting opportunity for anybody passionate about equine welfare, education, customer service, income generation, and an individual who enjoys interacting with members of the public. A good working attitude and drive towards progression and providing new ideas to generate income, engage stakeholders and deliver the Charity's educational mission. The key responsibilities for the position are to facilitate events and activities onsite and offsite, as well as participating or delivering educational presentations and events. As well as activities and events with an equine focus.

The successful candidate will be accountable to the Equine Education & Engagement Manager. They will be responsible for delivering engaging fundraising and educational activities for a variety of stakeholders, co-ordinating the organisation of fundraising events and activities, working as part of the existing team and have a thorough understanding of equine welfare, husbandry and stable management to deliver HAPPA's Educational Programme. IT competency and software experience is desirable as well as previous equine experience, a qualification in this area is desirable. Full, clean driver's licence is essential to enable the candidate to fully embrace the role. Competency in towing a horse trailer is desirable.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

* Assist with the smooth running of all fundraising events and activities; including but not limited to equine events/activities, educational events and attending agricultural shows to promote the Charity.
* Assist with delivering activities and events both onsite and off-site
* Work alongside volunteers to promote and raise funds for HAPPA at events and activities on/off site
* Ensure HAPPA is presented well at all activities and events and increase brand awareness through engaging with the general public.
* Representing HAPPA at events, where required giving presentations.
* Participate in the delivery of equine elements of HAPPA educational programmes if requested.
* To gather data and images to support marketing activities.
* Participate in the gathering of social media and marketing content.
* To have sufficient knowledge in horse husbandry, management, welfare to ensure correct standards of education can be provided to partcipants.
