Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a Finance Manager to join their senior leadership team. With a turnover in excess of £4 million and a workforce of 100+, this organisation plays a vital role in supporting adults and children with care needs throughout the region. This is a pivotal role for an experienced finance professional seeking to apply their expertise in a purpose-led organisation. As Finance Manager, you will lead on all financial matters, reporting directly to the CEO and supporting the board in informed decision-making. You'll drive budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and financial reporting, while overseeing a small finance team and managing external audit relationships.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organisational goals
2. Lead on annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and financial planning
3. Produce timely and accurate management accounts and board reports
4. Ensure compliance with relevant financial legislation and reporting standards
5. Oversee day-to-day finance operations, cash flow, and funding streams
6. Support grant management, ensuring robust tracking and reporting
7. Manage and develop a finance team of 2 administrators and a payroll specialist
8. Liaise with external accountants and auditors during year-end processes
9. Present financial updates to the Board of Trustees with clarity and confidence
About You
10. Professionally qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or part-qualified with credible experience working alongside external financial advisors
11. Proven experience in a senior finance role, ideally within the charity or care sector
12. Skilled in financial reporting, compliance, and systems oversight
13. Strong analytical thinker with attention to detail
14. Confident communicator, able to present financial matters to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
15. High levels of integrity, with a genuine alignment to values-led work
16. Experience managing or mentoring a small team is desirable
