Our client, with an informal, fully staffed household is seeking a Full-time Live-out Governess to start July based in North London.
The family consists of 2 adults, 3 children aged 8,10 & 12, there may also be 2 dogs to join the family soon.
Duties include (but not limited to):
1. Take care of children’s daily life, act as guardian on occasions with parents’ authorisation
2. Observe children's learning, social, emotional, performance and physical development, provide material and emotional support and assistance
3. Dine with children, promote concept of healthy and balanced diet as well as demonstrate table manners
4. Act as a role model, teach children manners, etiquette and right code of conduct
5. Help children to establish healthy study and life routine, encourage independence
6. Take care of children's clothes and other daily necessities, ensure children have suitable and sufficient supplies
7. Liaise with family chef, plan and arrange children's daily meals in order to meet children's nutritional and health needs
8. Keep great interest in latest trends of children's education and life, share and make suggestion to parents
9. Assist children with their homework
10. Prepare children for exams and assessment
11. Recommend and arrange private tutors according to children’s needs
12. Plan and organise educational games, classes, and activities with STEM challenges
13. Review children’s timetable, ensure activities, private tutors, etc. are arranged in good balance
14. Maintain close contact with school, teachers and private tutors, obtain feedback on children’s progress and performance, and communicate with parents in timely manner
15. Have regular meeting with parents, keep them updated with children’s progress and milestones plus school curriculum, parent’s day, play day, holiday plan, etc.
16. Remind parents of any upcoming meetings, exams, activities, etc.
17. Collect children from school, accompany them to venues of off school classes or activities
18. Prepare for next day school with parents, e.g. bag, clothes, PE kits, etc. ensure smooth school day
19. Plan ahead for upcoming terms, work on the upcoming curriculum, as well as revising from the previous term
20. Travel with family during school holidays, recommend age appropriate learning opportunities
21. Work in another property when and if required
It is a MUST you possess the following:
22. University degree with PGCE from top universities in UK, US or Europe
23. 3-5 years’ experience in teaching (QTS), ideally has STEM Learning CPD accreditation
24. Paediatric First Aid Certificate
25. High degree of flexibilities
26. Friendly, energetic, responsible, caring, passionate about children's education
27. Ability to create and execute age appropriate home learning including STEM challenges
