POST TITLE:- Youth Worker
POST GRADE:- £ per hr (dependant on experience)
RESPONSIBLE TO:- Youth Development Manager
Purpose of the post:
· To assist in developing and delivering high quality face to face youth work aimed at meeting the identified needs of young people. This could take place in a variety of settings but mainly in the Youth Club on an evening.
· Under direction, to help young people achieve their potential through relevant support and interventions appropriate to the needs of each young person.
Key Tasks:
· To assist in the delivery of youth club sessions including planning and evaluating
· To establish contact with and form relationships with young people based on mutual trust as part of local programmes
· Ensure all sessions are delivered effectively and efficiently to Kidz Konnekt standards.
· Work effectively and conscientiously within a team of sessional workers in the delivery of all activities.
. To maintain direct face to face work with young people
· Ensure all children and young people are encouraged in positive behaviour and that they develop physically, emotionally, socially and intellectually when attending sessions.
. To assist the involvement of young people in the planning and evaluation of programmes
· To assist with service development by contributing to planning, delivery and monitoring of local provision and to ensure any relevant paperwork is completed and authorised within company guidelines and procedures including but not exhausting; consent forms, incident/accident reports and session planners.
. To attend relevant training and meetings as required by the Youth Development Manager
· To assist in the development of programmes that promote equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice
· To work co-operatively and collaboratively with staff from other statutory and voluntary agencies in developing working partnerships.
· To promote a positive image of Kidz Konnekt through professional operation and conduct when dealing with members of the public and young people
· To take responsibility for continuous personal training and professional self-development, as identified in discussion with your line manager.
. To help maintain a clean and safe working environment
. To comply with the relevant child protection and safeguarding policies.
The candidate will already have some experience and/or a L2 in Youth Work or equivalent level of education/qualification or be willing to work towards this within the first year of employment.
Hours: approximately 7.5hrs - 10hrs per week depending on your availability, overtime available in school holidays up to 20hrs a week
Youth Clubs take place after school 4.45pm - 7.15pm Mon - Fri.
