We are looking for a Porter to provide essential on-the-ground support that keeps the RSC estate running smoothly, enabling performers, creatives and teams to deliver world-class theatre experiences.
This is a varied role, where you will engage with multiple stakeholders across the company and across different buildings, including commercial buildings and residential properties, where daily travel via foot, bike or company vehicle will be required. You'll be the friendly support that residents, visiting artists and colleagues depend on, working behind the scenes to ensure our buildings are set up, safe, clean and welcoming for everyone who walks through our doors.
Reporting to the Head of Residential Accommodation and Commercial Leases, key areas of responsibility include (please see the Role Profile for the comprehensive list):
1. Providing porter services safely across the RSC's Stratford sites, including moving equipment, furniture, heavy deliveries, printed materials and removing refuse and garden waste.
2. Supporting the preparation and set-up of spaces for rehearsals, performances, meetings and events.
3. Maintaining clean, safe, and well-presented internal and external areas, including pathways, car parks and entrances.
4. Collecting and distributing post and supporting day-to-day operational logistics.
5. Assisting with residential accommodation turnarounds and general upkeep (involves occasional Sunday working).
6. Monitoring and reporting maintenance or safety issues and completing helpdesk tasks in a timely manner.
7. Supporting contractors on site and ensuring compliance with permits and documentation.
To be suitable for this role, it is essential that you have the following knowledge and experience:

10. Basic understanding of health and safety, including manual handling.
11. A full manual driving licence for the purposes of driving a company vehicle to various sites across the estate.

This is a full-time, fixed-term position, working 40 hours per week, based in Stratford upon Avon. Typically working 7am till 4pm, Monday to Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work will be required, and protective closing and uniform will be provided.
