Responsibilities
As a General Highways Operative Driver, you will be required to carry out all aspects of highway maintenance across the Wigan borough, including working to precise measurements in drain laying, trenching, reinforced concreting, manhole construction, shuttering, kerbing, laying flags, block paving and flexible surfacing.
You will also be required to provide an efficient highway maintenance service to other departments and external suppliers within Wigan Borough.
Qualifications
You should have experience working in multi‑disciplinary teams in a highway maintenance environment and sound knowledge of materials used for highway maintenance.
You should be able to demonstrate the ability to lead, motivate and develop team members, and possess excellent decision‑making skills and initiative.
You should also have a wide range of experience operating various equipment and techniques used in modern highway maintenance.
