Overview

Join to apply for the Lecturer in Health role at Bath College.

Permanent contract, 22.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Posted salary is full time equivalent.

To contribute to the Department’s aim in providing high quality learning and teaching, assisting in the development, organisation and delivery of the curriculum area – Health. Managing, reviewing and assessing a range of programmes and levels across the Health strand, and providing tutor support. To ensure that the achievement rates of learners are at or above the level set by the college.

Key Responsibilities

* Deliver high standards of teaching and learning and monitor assessment processes in accordance with awarding body requirements. Provide induction, initial assessment, guidance to learners undertaking full time programmes.
* Deliver departmental requirements of core and additional programmes, specifically with a clinical health focus.
* Support the delivery on the T Level Health, BTEC Level 3 Health and Social Care, and HE programmes as required by the curriculum.
* Produce schemes of work, lesson plans, assessment plans, learning materials and related activities that impact learning effectiveness.
* Coordinate and maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students’ learning carried out by the course team.
* Communicate external examination entry and timetable arrangements to the course team and students. Deal with queries when supervising learners.
* Work pro-actively to forward the success and vision of the department and the College.
* Contribute to the college’s teaching and learning objectives, demonstrate commitment to raising standards and sharing good practice. Participate in promotional and marketing aspects of the college.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

* Relevant qualification in Health
* Experience of working in a care or clinical setting (hospital ward; nursing; medical; care home; nursing home; domiciliary care)
* Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards)
* Demonstrate an understanding of quality assurance requirements of awarding bodies and the College
* Demonstrate knowledge of the BTEC Level 3 Qualifications framework and/or Health Care T Levels
