Role Overview:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Risk & Governance Underwriter to join our Underwriting Risk & Governance team. As of mid 2025, we welcome Acromas (AICL) into the Ageas UK group, which will continue to underwrite home and motor insurance through Saga, ahead of a 20-year affinity partnership with Ageas starting in late 2025. The Senior Underwriter will oversee Acromas' daily governance, ensure Consumer Duty adherence, and promote fair value across all products. The role involves maintaining compliance in a dynamic regulatory environment, seeking improvements, and shaping policies independently.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Deliver Consumer Duty requirements, including quarterly assessments and annual board sign-offs, explaining compliance and overseeing action completion.
2. Collaborate across the three lines of defence to align business activities with regulatory requirements and embed compliance.
3. Maintain oversight of product design, operation, and fair value assessments throughout the product lifecycle, including distribution oversight.
4. Lead development, coaching, and guidance for pricing and underwriting teams, acting as a role model.

* Strong numeracy and data interpretation skills.
* Excellent communication skills for internal and external reporting.
* Leadership qualities with influencing skills.
* Proactive, innovative, and self-motivated approach.
* Good risk evaluation and decision-making skills.
* Understanding of insurance regulatory environment, especially Consumer Duty and PROD.
