Kent Adult Educations Family Learning Team is expanding, and were looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Family Learning Tutor to join our successful service. You will be part of a supportive, experienced, and friendly team committed to improving outcomes for children and adults across Kent.
The Role
We are recruiting a Permanent 0.4 FTE Family Learning Tutor to deliver a range of courses, including Family English, Maths and Language (ESOL) in the Maidstone, Swale and Tonbridge areas.
Our programme includes:
1. Family English, Maths and ESOL
2. Personal development and parenting
3. Basic cookery and family first aid
4. Creative and wellbeing courses with embedded English and maths
You will teach in community venues such as primary schools, Family Hubs, local centres, and online from home. Courses vary in length and are usually delivered in twohour sessions per week.
What Were Looking For
To thrive in this role, you will:
5. Hold relevant teaching and subject qualifications
6. Bring experience of working with families or community groups
7. Be passionate about making learning fun, accessible, and inspiring
8. Be able to deliver Entry Level to Level 2 programmes
9. Be confident completing standardised paperwork
10. Be willing to teach flexiblyincluding some evenings, school holidays and very occasional Saturday by prior agreement
11. Be able to drive as driving is required to meet the provision, delivery and quality requirements for this role. (reasonable adjustments considered)
Strong English and maths skills (minimum Level 2/GCSE C/4) and knowledge of the Primary Curriculum are essential, as our programmes map to the Adult Core Curriculum and may progress to Functional Skills and Trinity ESOL qualifications.

Preferred start date: September 2026 (with some prestart training by agreement)
