Role Overview:
The Marine & Helicopter Coordination role is a key support function within the Offshore Operations & Logistics department of Construction. It ensures safe offshore operations, transit, access to the OWF, and emergency response during OWF construction.
Shift Details:
Includes day and night shifts, weekend work, with potential for additional ad-hoc shifts before, during, and after the main contract period.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate emergency responses, liaising with project staff and external agencies.
2. Manage vessel and helicopter traffic according to protocols.
3. Track personnel, vessels, and communications.
4. Manage WTG access restrictions.
5. Optimize vessel allocations and adapt to schedule changes.
6. Operate offshore management systems, ensuring personnel certifications and asset statuses are current.
7. Liaise with local stakeholders as needed.
8. Provide weather forecasts and interpret data for project and vessel masters.
9. Manage relationships with weather data providers.
10. Monitor weather and marine operations on the OWF.
11. Plan and coordinate emergency responses and procedures.
12. Oversee vessel and aircraft safety, surveillance, and avoidance protocols.
13. Compile and manage statutory reports related to pollution, lighting, buoy drifting, and vessel infringements.
14. Work 12-hour shifts, with a rotation of one week on, one week off, with flexibility for extended rotations.
Requirements:
* Applicants preferably local to Grimsby (within approximately 2 hours).
* Minimum of 2 years' experience in Marine Coordination.
* Proficiency with Offshore Operations Supplier Database and radio communications.
* Computer literacy and familiarity with maritime certification standards.
* Ability to work proactively in a team, under pressure, and engage effectively with the organization.
* Experience in offshore emergency response.
* Personnel tracking and marine traffic control expertise.
* Knowledge of airspace coordination and weather monitoring.
* Strong liaison skills with HSE, marine inspection, and helicopter operators.
* Understanding of statutory reporting requirements.
* Flexibility for shift pattern adjustments and extended rotations as needed.
