Stoke-on-Trent City Council, Directorate: Children and Families, Section: Access & Support Services, Grade: Level 9, Salary: £34,185.11‑£36,807.07 (under 5 years local government service) or £34,959.19‑£37,640.52 (over 5 years local government service), Hours: 37 hours per week, working term time plus. You will work 38 weeks when the schools are open plus an additional 21 days during the school closure periods.
Responsibilities
* Support statutory entitlement for children who cannot attend school due to exclusion, illness, or other exceptional circumstances.
* Guide vulnerable children and young people back to education and opportunities.
* Work directly with schools, families, health professionals and alternative providers to ensure every child receives a high-quality, tailored education.
* Build trusted relationships with young people and families, co‑produce personalised education placement plans.
* Coordinate wrap‑around support across education, health, and social care.
* Drive positive transitions back into mainstream settings.
Qualifications
* Empathy, resilience and a deep belief in second chances.
* Experience working with schools and vulnerable children.
* Knowledge of education law and inclusive practice.
* A collaborative, can‑do spirit and a desire to make a real change.
