Overview
Our client has a number of Out of School Care provisions across the Baillieston area and they are looking for motivated and enthusiastic people to join their friendly team. This would be an excellent opportunity to work for a committed employer who will pay you a competitive salary and support you in your training and beyond. You will undertake an apprenticeship in childcare to complete the SVQ3 in Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF level 7. On completion you will become a qualified childcare practitioner.
Hours and Salary
Hours will be 16 hours per week, including shifts from 2.45 to 5.45 Monday to Friday (15 hours) plus 1 hour paid for planning activities and online training courses. You will be offered a competitive apprenticeship salary ranging from £8 to £11.44 (depending on experience).
Responsibilities
* a part-time position in an after school setting where you will learn and train how to deliver effective care and learning
* full training programme learning from the employer and training provider
* working as part of a team
* developing care and pedagogical skills to support each individual child\'s care and learning needs
* designing and delivering learning experiences to develop each child
* supporting the workings of the childcare setting
* developing knowledge of theory and child development
* understanding the theory and practice around Getting It Right For Every Child
* developing knowledge of frameworks in relation to early learning and childcare
Qualifications and Requirements
* The successful candidate will be supported and guided through their qualification, including regular meetings with the allocated SVQ assessor and completion of written work to support accreditation and competencies in each area of the qualification. The qualification will be delivered by Tinies Glasgow Training Centre (SQA accredited).
* Successful candidates will be required to offer 2 satisfactory references and undergo PVG and SSSC registration.
* Candidates must be enthusiastic and committed to delivering high quality childcare to all children.
* No professional childcare experience required, but you must be able to show a passion for working with children.
