Resident Doctor Generalist – The Harborne Hospital
We’re looking for a General Surgical or Acute Medicine Resident Doctor to join our medical team at The Harborne Hospital, Birmingham, West Midlands. This is a full-time or part-time role covering general wards and day‑case areas, with 12‑hour shifts days and nights, Monday‑Sunday covering weekends. Salary £65,000‑£73,092 (DOE) plus paid bank shifts.
What You’ll Do
As part of our team of Resident Doctors you will cover our general wards and day‑case areas, acting on consultant‑led decisions in partnership with highly specialist nurses. Responsibilities include pre‑op or post‑op treatments, clinical assessments, ward rounds, clerking admissions, reviewing discharges, assessing referrals and providing immediate medical care such as attending and leading on emergency cardiac arrest calls or other urgent situations.
You will also be involved in audits, projects, quality improvement initiatives, internal networks, and multidisciplinary team meetings. Your role may expand into leadership, research and teaching opportunities.
What You’ll Bring
* GMC Registration and License to Practice in the UK
* MBBS medical qualification
* A current ALS certificate
* Minimum of 4 years of specialty/IMT/CT training (NHS – 4 years)
* Post‑Grad Exam MRCP or MRCS desirable
