We are seeking an experienced and passionate full time Housing Enforcement and Compliance Officer (37 hours per week) to take a leading role in addressing Anti-Social Behaviour and complex breaches of tenancy, whilst maintaining safe sustainable housing communities and balancing the support needs of vulnerable customers. This is a rewarding and fast paced role where your key responsibilities will include managing a complex caseload including ASB, harassment, hate crime, domestic abuse, hoarding and other serious breaches of tenancy, whilst taking a victim centred proactive approach balancing support and enforcement to resolve issues early and effectively. If you are someone who can build trust and works well under pressure and knows how to take swift actions when it matters, we would love to hear from you. The successful candidate will need to be an expert in their field and have outstanding knowledge of legislation in addressing ASB and tenancy breaches, taking into account support needs, vulnerability of both victims and alleged perpetrators and any safeguarding needs whilst addressing these matters. Along with managing the most complex of cases, the post also plays a key role in helping develop policy and procedure to ensure WDC can provide the best service we can to ensure safe communities. You will therefore act as a subject specialist to our housing management teams, providing coaching and support to others in achieving our aims. This isn’t just about managing cases it’s about protecting residents, supporting vulnerable people, and improving everyday life in our communities. You will have substantial, recent experience working in an ASB or community safety managing serious or persistent ASB cases. You will be able to operate confidently and professionally investigating ASB cases and be capable of progressing cases for legal action where required, preparing the necessary witness statements and bundles, representing WDC by holding audience at court. You will therefore need to have a sound working knowledge of Anti‑Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, and the Housing Act, and excellent understanding of enforcement action including possession proceedings linked to ASB. A full, valid UK driving licence and ability to travel across operational areas is a requirement for this role.
