ADHD Teaching Assistant - Thornton, Lancashire
Daily Rate: £89–£95 (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Term-time only
Start Date: ASAP or January 2026
Are you experienced in supporting children with ADHD or other neurodiverse needs?
A welcoming and inclusive school in Thornton is seeking a committed ADHD Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support to pupils with additional needs. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in education, care, or youth work settings.
Key Duties:
* Deliver 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ADHD
* Implement strategies to support attention, behaviour, and emotional regulation
* Work collaboratively with teachers and SENCO to adapt learning activities
* Build positive relationships to encourage pupil engagement
* Monitor progress and contribute to support plans
Essential Criteria:
* Experience supporting children with ADHD or SEND (formal or informal)
* Calm, consistent, and nurturing approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Passion for inclusive education
* DBS on the update service or willingness to apply
Desirable:
* Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Psychology degree, Team Teach)
* Understanding of ADHD strategies and behaviour support techniques
