SEND Teaching Assistant – Cheltenham – Full-Time

We’re currently seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and well-resourced Special Needs School in the Cheltenham area. This school supports pupils aged 4 to 11 with a wide range of complex needs, including ASD (Autism), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties).

What You’ll Be Doing:
1. Supporting pupils with learning and physical needs in both 1:1 and small group settings
2. Assisting with personal care and moving & handling, including the use of hoists
3. Helping deliver engaging lessons and personalised learning plans
4. Promoting emotional wellbeing and encouraging independence
5. Remaining calm and flexible in response to changes in behaviour or routine
6. Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff

What We’re Looking For:
12. Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (desirable but not essential)
13. Friendly, flexible, and patient personality
14. Understanding of or interest in ASD, SLD, PMLD
15. Confident assisting with personal care and physical support
16. Strong communication skills and a team player attitude
17. Own transport preferred due to school location
18. Willingness to undertake Moving & Handling and other relevant CPD training
19. A genuine passion for helping children with additional needs succeed

Salary
£445-£470 per week
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
