The Role
The Role: We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join our multi-skilled maintenance team.
Location
Location: Warrington, UK (on-site)
Work Schedule
Work Schedule: This is a shift (3-shift rotation) position, working 35.75 hours per week:
* Monday to Thursday, 7.5 hours per day
* Friday, 5.75 hours
What You’ll Do
The Mechanical Maintenance Fitter is responsible for providing a maintenance service for all plant, equipment and services within our Warrington plant.
* Address plant breakdowns as needed, ensuring equipment is repaired correctly and efficiently to minimize downtime.
* Follow the maintenance plan promptly and safely, adhering to all relevant laws and internal company safety, health, and environmental standards.
* Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment, including factory expansions and upgrades.
* Work to enhance plant performance while maintaining safety, maintenance, and asset reliability.
* Support maintenance and operations by using and maintaining documents, policies, procedures, and guidelines for the safe and efficient upkeep of equipment within the Mechanical Engineering department.
* Conduct both planned and reactive maintenance on machinery, tools, equipment, and facilities.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement a preventative maintenance schedule, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
* Identify and repair faults to reduce downtime.
* Perform regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
* Keep accurate records of completed work, including maintenance logs and reports.
* Monitor and maintain an inventory of necessary spare parts, tools, and supplies.
* Carry out repairs and maintenance tasks on mechanical equipment, machines, and systems.
* Monitor operating conditions, identify substance deterioration, and detect recurring faults or failures in mechanical equipment.
* Provide support and solutions in daily production operations, contributing to process improvements.
* Evaluate data and analyse errors to identify and resolve issues.
What You’ll Bring
* Formal recognised course of training in mechanics
* Ability to read mechanical diagrams, make working sketches, and to work from verbal instructions.
* Capable and demonstrate the using of any mechanical measuring and test equipment provided.
* Ability to of work for long periods on own initiative and without direct supervision
