Do you have the patience, positivity, and energy to support children with additional needs? We’re working with a specialist school in Peterlee who are looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team.
This role is all about helping pupils feel supported, valued, and ready to learn. You’ll work closely with teaching staff to provide tailored support in and out of the classroom, making a real difference to children who need that extra guidance.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with special educational needs
2. Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and daily routines
3. Supporting pupils with communication, social, and emotional development
4. Creating a safe, structured, and encouraging learning environment
We’re looking for someone who:
5. Has experience working with children or young people (in education, care, or similar settings)
6. Can stay calm under pressure and bring empathy and patience to every situation
7. Works well as part of a supportive team
8. Is adaptable, positive, and ready to make an impact
