Job Summary
We are looking for an Occupational Therapy Technical Instructor to join our dynamic and friendly team in the Occupational Therapy service based at Bowmere Hospital, Chester.
This is a full‑time post on a short‑term contract for 3 months from July to October 2026 to cover workforce gaps.
The successful applicant will be working with adult service users, who are experiencing acute mental illness inpatient care. The Occupational Therapy service aims to support service users toward independence and safe discharge, using a person‑centred approach. We work as part of an integrated multidisciplinary team alongside Allied Health Professionals, Nursing, Fitness Instructors and medical colleagues.
Responsibilities
The postholder will plan and facilitate a varied programme of therapeutic activities, working in small groups or individually with service users. Service users may have functional mental illness or dementia. The postholder will also contribute to daily living skills assessments and interventions, and help maintain the Clarion Centre (Therapy department). The department is well resourced and includes a gym.
Qualifications
The successful applicant will have excellent communication and teamwork skills and enjoy working in a busy hospital environment. Evidence of relevant experience, an understanding of person‑centred working and the 6 Cs is required.
Schedule
Full time, Monday–Friday 8.30 am – 4.30 pm.
